Industry Advocacy

A voice for builders, trades, and attainable homeownership

Kara Bolton has been an advocate for the construction industry since 2004, lending her voice and leadership to issues impacting builders, housing affordability, and workforce development. Her advocacy is grounded in real-world experience—balancing the practical realities of building with the long-term need for attainable, well-designed housing.

In addition to serving as Past President of the Builders Association of North Central Florida, Kara previously chaired the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for Alachua County, where she worked alongside public and private stakeholders to address housing access, policy, and community needs. Her leadership and service have been recognized by her peers through multiple honors, including the President’s Choice Award and the Chair of the Year Award, as well as being named Builder of the Year.

Today, Kara brings decades of Florida advocacy experience to her expanding work in the Outer Banks—bridging regional perspectives while supporting strong, sustainable building communities in both states.
