Founded in 2006, Kara Bolton Homes is entering its 20th year with a renewed vision rooted in craftsmanship, adaptability, and quality of life.

Beginning in 2026, Kara Bolton Homes will operate in two distinct markets, with Kara personally overseeing projects in each region:

• Newberry, Florida — building new spec and pre-sold homes in Fairway Pointe at West End
• Hatteras Island, North Carolina — building custom coastal homes in Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton

Kara’s expansion to the Outer Banks is both professional and personal. First visiting the OBX more than a decade ago, she was immediately drawn to its beautiful homes, warm hospitality, rich natural resources, and vibrant outdoor culture—including world-class kiteboarding. As her career evolved, so did her desire to take on new challenges, particularly the technical demands of building on timber pilings in a coastal environment.

Over the past two decades building in the Gainesville area, Kara has witnessed significant shifts in both housing and labor markets. Communities like Fairway Pointe at West End—featuring locally built, well-appointed homes at attainable prices—have become increasingly rare, as much of the region’s future development trends toward large, publicly traded production builders. Kara Bolton Homes remains committed to thoughtful, locally rooted construction that prioritizes quality over volume.

Hatteras Island offers the opportunity to continue growing as a homebuilder while contributing to a community that depends on durable, thoughtfully designed housing. Kara Bolton Homes plans to construct custom homes and seek public-private partnerships that support attainable housing for the workforce serving seasonal travelers and water-sports enthusiasts.
