Women’s Empowerment

Connection, courage, and leadership

As a woman builder working in traditionally male-dominated markets, Kara Bolton is passionate about empowering women to lead with confidence. Much of her women’s empowerment work has been rooted in Florida, where she has created spaces—both formal and informal—for women to connect, network, and step into leadership roles.

One particularly meaningful moment came while giving a tour to the University of Florida women’s volleyball team and their retired head coach, Mary Wise, at a mixed-use building Kara developed and built. Standing beneath a hand-painted mural reading “Empowered Women Empower Women,” a conversation about being held to a higher standard resonated deeply. The standard is real—and one Kara, like Coach Wise, has learned to meet with acceptance and confidence.

As Kara expands her work into North Carolina, she plans to carry that same enthusiasm forward, including bringing adventurous women together at Waterwoman’s Oasis—creating opportunities for connection, leadership, and shared growth across both markets.
