Evan T Bolton
Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Evan Bolton, who passed away unexpectedly in March 2017 at the age of 13. Evan grew up in Gainesville, Florida, and attended Alachua County Schools.
He had a deep love for the water—especially the ocean. His happiest days were spent at the beach, riding waves, kite-surfing, boogie boarding, or skimming alongside his dad. On weekends, he often slept in a hammock on the family sailboat, rocked to sleep by the sea.
The Evan Bolton Memorial Scholarship supports students at the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management at the University of Florida. In honor of Evan’s adventurous spirit and his love for the ocean, applicants are invited to include a short paragraph about their own connection to the water and love for adventure as part of the application process.
Through this scholarship, Evan’s legacy lives on—encouraging future builders to pursue their passions with the same joy, curiosity, and sense of wonder that he brought to life every day.
