Kara Bolton is the President, CEO, and Owner of Kara Bolton Homes, Inc. and she has designed, built, and sold over $50 million new residential housing projects in Greater Gainesville and surrounding communities since the company’s inception in 2006.  Kara is both a Certified General Contractor and Real Estate Sales Associate with Remax Professionals. Today, she leads a small team of professionals as the exclusive builder in Fairway Pointe at West End in northwest Gainesville, her second exclusive builder community.

Kara’s passion for construction started in college as she worked as a construction laborer in the summers to put herself through school and raise her daughter while she lived in subsidized housing. Kara earned both her degrees from the University of Florida, a Bachelor’s of Science with High Honors in 2000 and a Master’s of Science in Management in 2002.

Kara is tenacious and fearless; she navigated her small company through the worst housing crisis in history. Over the years, she built quality homes and townhomes of all sizes and finishes in several communities including Gloria’s Way, Villas of West End, Heritage Oaks, Parkwest Estates, Townsend, Fletchers Park, Brytan, and Willow Oak Plantation, just to name a few.

Kara has given back to the community by serving as the President of the Builder’s Association of North Central Florida (BANCF) in 2013. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for BANCF and the Advisory Committee for the Santa Fe College Construction Management Program. Kara was also the Chair of The Alachua County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee in 2013 and has been an active participant in the Parade of Homes since October 2008. Kara has volunteered as a guest speaker at the Real Estate Forum in 2013 and Professor-for-a-Day, Construction Finance at the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction of the College of Design at the University of Florida.

Kara makes sure that her creativity and personal touch is reflected in every aspect of her work. Kara creates the architectural blueprints of all the homes she builds. She has been a seamstress since the age of 8, and she has created as many sewing projects as she has housing projects, including sewing her daughter’s senior prom dress and the flower girl dresses in her wedding. Kara sewed her gown she wore to the induction ceremony when she was installed as President of the Builder’s Association of North Central Florida. Kara enjoys interior decorating and she decorates all her Model and Parade homes.
